The National Atomic Testing Museum is the only Congressionally mandated national museum in Nevada, and one of only 37 national museums in the nation created by congress and enacted by public law. It features a visual history of the atomic bomb and has many permanent and changing exhibits. There are more than 12,000 artifacts as well as a film presentation showing an atom bomb detonating. Another feature is the Area 51 exhibit, which presents evidence of the secret site from the people who worked there.
